Navdeep is the youngest member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada.  He formally served as the Member of Parliament for Mississauga-Brampton South in Ontario from 2004 to 2011 representing the Liberal Party of Canada. First elected federally in June 2004, he was subsequently re-elected in January 2006 and October 2008. In October 2005, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister under the Rt. Hon. Paul Martin and sworn into the Queen’s Privy Council.  
Navdeep was appointed the Official Opposition Critic for Public Works and Government Services, Treasury Board, International Trade, Natural Resources, Small Business and Tourism respectively. He also sat on the Caucus Committees for Planning and Priorities, Canada and the World and Economic Prosperity. In January 2007, Navdeep was appointed to the National Election Readiness Committee as a Caucus Representative and served as the Youth Liaison to the Young Liberals of Canada from 2007-2008.

In January 2009, Navdeep was appointed Co-Chair of the Special Committee on Party Renewal and proposed and passed constitutional amendments that resulted in a weighted one-member, one-vote leadership selection process. In March 2009, Navdeep was appointed Chair of Platform Development and given responsibility for managing the creation of the party’s election platform that was unveiled in Ottawa during the 2011 campaign.

Over his career, Navdeep has sat on the following House of Commons Committees: Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics; Finance; Government Operations and Estimates; International Trade; Natural Resources; Public Accounts; Public Works and the Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Development where he served as Chairman. 

Ford Motor Company of Canada
Navdeep joined the Ford team in 2001 as a Cost Analyst where he supported the marketing and sales division and he conducted analysis of departmental costs and forecasting that aligned with corporate revitalization objectives.  He also designed an online departmental cost analysis system that provided detail cost summaries and budgets.

In 2003, Navdeep was promoted to Revenue Analyst, where he developed monthly revenue forecasts for US corporate reporting.   He initiated a new net pricing metric and designed management reports for profit analysis that assisted Ford’s restructuring plan.  He also applied Six Sigma methodology to monitor and improve dealer claims processing that improved customer satisfaction.
